Lima : hot, sunny, with chance of scattered fun
Today it was the boys' turn to take over the zoo...and they did! They enjoyed seeing all of the animals and having their pictures taken over and over. Dalton and I were helping with some of the older boys today (11-13) and our group was fused with some of the youngest boys. It was truly amazing to see how the older boys at the orphanage took care of the younger boys. They never let them out of their sight, put them up on shoulders so that they could see the animals, and helped take care of them during lunch. After lunch, the Westover teens played with the kids on a grassy field. Some played football while others played chase. The little boys enjoyed rolling around in the grass. They had so much fun playing after lunch that we discussed just letting them play the rest of the afternoon...but there were more animals to be seen. After leaving the zoo, we stopped by the Inca Market to shop for souvenirs. All in all, another great and rewarding day!
