Garage Parties
They come from dark, hot, creepy attics, from under beds, from the tops of closets and from stuffy dirty garages. They have been stuffed so many times, they are bursting at the seams, dust bunnies that jump at the slightest touch, and tiny insects crawl from the darkest places. They are dark colors, many with colored tape around their middles, colorful ribbons on handles, and with tags that remind them of their owners and where their permanent home is no matter where they travel. Yes, you have guessed, I am talking about suitcases!! What is a trip with out them. We have rounded up suitcases from far and wide to pack with bubbles, paper, crayons, balls, scissors, glow sticks, sidewalk chalk, dog tags, string, balloons and more things that you can imagine! All of these things have been carefully created into activities for the children at Communidad de Ninos Sagrada Famiia to enjoy while our team is there next week.
Before all of these suitcases can be packed there have been several days of chaos that brings laughter, sweat, lots of water, confusion, dirty feet, and lots of questions!! Several dear sweet friends have joined me over the last two weeks in the hot, sweaty confines of the Miller garage to organize, bag and label every item that will be going to the community! It can be a monumental task and only to be enjoyed with committed and loyal friends. Enjoy the pictures and pray for our sanity as we complete this task and try to turn the garage back over to the cars!
We will be leaving on Saturday, July 17th and would appreciate your prayers as we join team members from all over the United States to create a festive and happy week for a community of children that God has put together and given us the opportunity to serve.
Blessings,
Cyndy
